Yasuke, on the other hand, is a long katana-wielding brawler, with heavy armor and a tendency to tackle battles head on. This duality really makes Shadows saham toto stand out from its predecessors, and gives players additional agency in how they want to tackle missions and strongholds. No doubt, it sets up the American-language spinoff that’s in the works at Netflix. Whether Blanchett will be involved in that series remains to be seen, but this is a pretty big tease nonetheless. Outside of the games, the hunt for the elusive Squid Game island continues.
Jan Technician decided to stand up to his abusive father, whereas Jan Prime left for university and never looked back. There’s tension between the two men upon realizing this, and it quickly becomes apparent how someone so close to you can also simultaneously feel so far away. These alters may share the same DNA as Jan, but similarities essentially end there.
One big name that snuck in at the end of the year is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. MachineGames’ first game since finishing up its Wolfenstein reboots is another rollicking, nazi-punching adventure that brings the film hero to the AAA games era. It’s not only a big win for Indy fans, but for Xbox Games Studios that finally has a bonafide hit. That certainly doesn’t mean 2024 was a worse year for gaming – far from it. But one thing that is apparent is that they were spaced out, unlike last year when the hits just seemed to keep on coming.
I happen to like Euro-Jank story presentation so I like how it’s told. But some who are more used to how Japanese and American developers present their stories might find it more obtuse than it needs to be. As for the Euro Jank gameplay… Stalker taught me a long time ago how to put up with it.
With FPS elements mixed with action-RPG mechanics, Cyberpunk 2077 offers a detailed open world and some of the best quest lines in modern gaming, period. In our Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 hands-on preview, we note that the game feels as if we’re running the title on a PC with settings ranging from “Medium” to “High”. It also includes all DLC, so it’s a great bargain for new players, especially. In terms of the game itself, Demon’s Souls is a lovingly faithful remake of FromSoftware’s cult classic, with some modern bells and whistles to help bring it up to speed. Players will find a challenging yet satisfying action RPG, with hulking bosses to fell, and labyrinthian dungeons to explore.
As a Sony first-party title, you get to enjoy a host of DualSense features too which make everything from firing web bursts, swinging through the streets, and solving puzzles with differing trigger pressures immensely fun, and immersive. There’s also a host of impressive accessibility features that means more folks than ever can join in the fun of being a fully-fledged Spider-Man. Stalking, examining, and strategically dismantling and hunting each and everyone of Horizon Forbidden West’s robot dinosaur creatures – the machines – is brilliant, satisfying and action-packed. “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a loving recreation of the original’s second act, elevated by an impressive level of commitment and confidence and only held back by the occasional wobble.” – Cat Bussell, TechRadar Gaming reviewer.
Finding MKW at 13 feels like living in a dystopian world, especially when you see Fast Fusion and No Man’s Sky above it. It was one of the best features on the Wii U to have a map on a separate screen. If they can nail a seamless integration (no lag) with a smart phone to manage inventory, it would be a game changer. Its just funny how drastically the opinion on this game has changed since it came out. The game was absolutely trashed by reviewers when it came out on originally. I knew Fantasy Life appears to be receiving a lot of praise, but never expected it to hit the top of the charts at the time of writing.
Red Dust Rebellion Game Review
The writing in Disco Elysium is just so good and is some of the best you can experience in a PS5 game. It’s rich, detailed, gives a great sense of place, and makes for some very memorable interactions. The way Astro’s Playroom deploys the DualSense’s features and powers is unparalleled. From feeling different surfaces ‘underfoot’ to loading springy jumps with the triggers, it’s superb.
Extra exposition is good and all, but it comes at the immense sacrifice of the suspense and tension built by the games. Im eyeing something to fill the gap between my replay of botw and DK. Originally I was eyeing cyberpunk but fantasy life I is getting some high praise so I may shift my stance. Fast fusion will be a purchase one day, but I dont need another racer atm since im playing MKW. When you really think about it, there’s not much new stuff to play past MKW, and fast fusion. It’s one of the few examples of a game that completely repaired its first time image.
Cyberpunk 2077 Isn’t Done Yet, Patch 23 Drops In June 26 With New Content
If the Switch 2 wasn’t released and I booted up BotW on my old switch, after 5 years way from the game, I’d still be enjoying the hell out of it. Bit of a dig to rank a game that came out on the Wii U as the best launch title for Switch 2. @PharoneTheGnome For what it’s worth, I don’t think DK Bananza is “open world” in any meaningful way.
If you don’t want to play with others, this entry actually introduces NPC characters that can help you out on missions. There’s loads of smart changes like this that add up to a fantastic new era for the long-running series. Monster Hunter Wilds finally offers up a seamless open-word for hunters to explore, and by getting rid of some of the series’ bloat, it’s the most accessible entry yet. For one, combat has been overhauled for all 14 weapons, each receiving new moves and skills, and some being reworked completely. Now, you can bring two weapons on a hunt and switch between them, a move that really encourages experimentation.
