Bigger than it first appears, Avowed is an engrossing and gorgeous action-RPG set in one of the most engaging fantasy worlds going, though it lacks the complex systems of its most beloved contemporaries. [newline]Yet at other times it was wildly unpredictable, like when I’d somehow trigger an alarm performing a stealth takedown even though it appeared that no one else was around. Instead, more often than I’d like my efforts to remain hidden would evaporate, things would get loud, and a number of other problems would present themselves.

There are no skills to unlock or upgrades to earn in Rematch. The better one wins, and the other one goes back into matchmaking with a chip on their shoulder. This is old-school game design; you’re not playing to get stuff that makes you better. Featuring fast-paced gun assembly mechanics and intense combat, Gun X is a VR shooter that offers varying levels of FPS for added excitement. The game was developed and is designed to be a virtual reality experience, with its unique features including hand-held weapons, immersive PvP, and zombie survival modes.

Civilization 7 was supposed to be a revolution, with a new quality and plenty of new features. Instead, it gives the impression of a game released in early access with many problems. New games and cycles of trauma drive home the cruelty of this universe in novel ways, and Lee Jung-jae wraps up his iconic portrayal of  Gi-hun in stunning fashion. While its first few hours show real promise, The Precinct quickly bogs down in repetition, lackluster storytelling, and frustrating design choices that make law enforcement feel more like a chore than a calling.
